But for those who just know the city of Semarang, there is one place known as the Brown Canyon . The original Brown Canyon Semarang is a sand mining site, nowadays Brown Canyon Semarang is known as the place that is Istagram Able in Semarang.
Brown Canyon in Semarang is arguably the place where we can immerse ourselves in cool photos of Instagram style with stunning views of Semarang and unusual. Most photos in Brown Canyon Semarang will be suitable for display on Instagram or other social media commonly used to share photos. No wonder many Instagrammers like to visit this place.
Even having a beautiful view, Brown Canyon was originally not a tourist place but ordinary hills. However, due to material mining activities carried out every day for many years, finally Brown Canyon Semarang changed its form like a Green Canyon in America. Bitter indeed, but in fact a mining, unfriendly activity with nature actually makes Brown Canyon as one of the favorite tourist attractions in Semarang.
It is said that it has been more than 10 years, there is sand mining, soil and rock in Brown Canyon. Previously this place was just plain hills, which after taking the material formed a unique cliff texture known as the Brown Canyon.

As mentioned earlier, besides the beautiful scenery, this place is suitable for hobbyists of photography. Because indeed this place is very unique.
If you want to visit here, it should be done in the morning or evening. In low light conditions, the scenery at Brown Canyon will be better, for photography purposes or just to enjoy it. because during the day and the heat there will be a lot of dust scattered and no trees at all that can be used for shelter.
To go to Brown Canyon you can use a private vehicle, because going to Brown Canyon with public transportation will be quite difficult. Besides that it is better to avoid coming to Brown Canyon using four or more wheeled vehicles. Jarena road to Brown Canyon will be very difficult to do when using a four-wheeled vehicle.
Meanwhile, the route that you can use to get to the closest Brown Canyon is via Jalan Fatmawati (Pedurungan-East Semarang) with a journey of around fifteen minutes from the city center. From Fatmawati it continued to go south. After reaching RSUD Kota Semarang (Ketileng), just turn left towards the housing complex in the Klipang area. Continue to walk to the Klipang Golf area, through a new bridge, until you see two more iron bridges in front. Just keep going a little, then turn right. Arriving at this location you will see a lot of trucks carrying excavation materials. Brown Canyon is located about 2 KM to the south with road conditions that are very bumpy and dusty.
This is indeed not like in America with the famous Grand Canyon, or in Pangandaran with the charming Green Canyon. But it doesn't hurt to stop by Brown Canyon Semarang. But remember, please be careful because this is not a tourist place, but a sand mining area. Keep it clean and alert while in Brown Canyon Semarang yak!
